I was again induced to watch a Matrix movie without any real intent on my part, this time with the lure of hanging out with some good folks. May I diverge from a discussion of the movie itself for a moment to discuss IMAX theaters. IMAX theaters are designed to amplify everything. The seats shake, the screen is something on the order of 5 million times larger than a normal screen. If you've ever had the misfortune of sitting in the front row at a movie theater, then may I beg of you to not make the same mistake in an IMAX theater. The problem is far worse. Nevermind tight muscles, I had to figure out which ones were being overworked during the ordeal so I could tell which part of my body to relax. So, the movie. Keanu Reeves has huge pores. So do Laurence Fishburne and the guys playing Commander Locke and Link. |

yeah, you could probably fit whole people into those pores, but for sure you could fit hundreds of people in the gap between Fisburne's front teeth. When seen on Imax.

IMAX movies ar...
IMAX movies are absolutely anathema to your average Hollywood production. IMAX movies are epic in scale in order to give you precious details to focus on. Hollywood movies that are epic in scale try to prevent you from noticing most details, like how amazingly fake their CGI looks. But flaws are too big and too noticeable on an IMAX screen. Once the novelty wears off, they're going to have to design for IMAX instead of just blowing it all up a couple million times and hoping fools will easily part with their money twice (or in the case of Revolutions, hoping to make as much money as possible from as many venues as possible all at once before everyone finds out it sucks).
