Placing your organization in Microsoft's hands is like a substance abuse problem. You pay too much for something that doesn't do you any good, that will perpetually cost you too much in the future, and that is purposely made to be almost impossible to stop using. That's pretty much what a drug addiction is - you get nothing of value even though you're paying with your life, and you can't stop.
