I called around* eight camera stores today to locate a particular piece of equipment. Of the eight, six of them did; seven of those were initially answered by real people, one by an automated service.

Only one of these stores went from an answer of "yes, we carry that" directly into "and it costs..." That was the lone female.

The other five men required prompting, of the teeth-pulling sort.

* Some were no longer active phone numbers, thus 'around eight.'
