Sony VAIO, purchased from a smoker on eBay in 2001. Dual booted Windows 98 and Mandrake (now Mandriva) Linux. Death by hard drive controller failure near the middle of 2002 while writing my master's thesis. This is the original IBM drive, after deciding a claw hammer was ultimately the best use for it. Experiencing second life as a digital photo frame, if someone wants to take over assembling a new body. |
