I visited a large number of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed structures during my travels this past half year, before I settled down in Hollywood. I knew he oversaw four houses in the Los Angeles area but hadn't looked closely into where they were. Like many tourist attractions in your backyard, you never really think to go until it's not your backyard.

I was rather surprised to find that the little park behind the huge medical complex down the street wasn't just a little park: it housed one of the best views of the Hollywood hills and of downtown L.A. - and there's a Frank Lloyd Wright home in its heart.

I'm not one to read into these kinds of things, but it's a nice little coincidence. I'll stop in for a tour for sure this month.
