It seems my wireless router and bluetooth phone don't like sharing the 2.x GHz spectrum, though I'm not bothered enough by it to see if there's a solution (like better hardware, like an Apple AirPort). If my phone and router both happen to be fairly far away from my laptop, the laptop seems to gets confused about which frequency each signal is supposed to go to and ends up doing both incorrectly. Are WiFi and Bluetooth supposed to be competing technologies? I guess they could be, I don't see why you couldn't do Bluetooth-ish protocols over 802.11x, and, again playing the armchair non-researching expert, it seems a better idea to layer the device communication protocol over an existing wireless network protocol instead of forcing both to be part of one protocol. So, what, are we running out of useable consumer frequency bands? I hear my microwave and cordless phone all share the same frequency spectrum as WiFi, too. But whatever. The Bluetooth isn't so useful at home anyways, except to popup who's calling and mute the laptop.

I have too many toys right now.
