The little mouse icon on my numlock key always bugged me, because I had no idea what on earth it was for. Well, I just did a google search for it and found the MouseKeys option. Now I can give my left hand a rest from possible mouse strain by using the numeric keypad to move that stupid cursor around the screen. Of course, I just have to have two 21" monitors for the thing to slowly putter across - I should be able to make the top speed and acceleration a little higher than the given limit - but this is something of a relief. Congrats, Microsoft actually put something useful in their operating system. (I use Windows NT 4.0 as a desktop because The Man demands I have access to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and varous other lame Windows things. Find me a replacement and I'm gone.) |
