Ryan's Journal

Adding on to the announcements of my colleagues, I am leaving the SIMILE project and MIT at the end of May. I'll be writing more about what I intend to do as the conclusion of ten almost-continuous years at MIT draws near.

I can say that I will not be looking to continue in this line of work, or computeering in general, despite the fun of SIMILE tools and research. I imagine the digital world will continue to be wholly unavoidable moving forward, and that from time to time I'll drop in a code commit on interesting things, but I am no longer pursuing a career in it.

I've dropped hints before that this day would come, and I'm happy it's here. There were good times, and now it's time for something new.
