The first piece ...
The first piece of advertising I saw for Cloverfield was a billboard on Cloverfield Blvd, so I didn't even realize it was a movie up until recently =b How are they marketing it? I think I've only seen like 1 commercial for the movie in the last month or so, I just see a lot of billboards.

Congrats on the body. I'm holding out till at least next year with the hope of a 5DII and potentially ISO6400 ;)
Anyway, you can buy a cheap wired remote off ebay for $15ish by a company called Adidt. It feels pretty cheap (especially when compared to the official Canon one), but it works fine. They make wireless versions too, but I don't know anything about them.
The other option is to set a 2 second timer and use mirror lockup. When I forget my remote I'll usually use the timer.

I've been using it for about a month or so and it's been great. Strangely, it failed for the first time today and has let about 6 spam posts through in the last 2 hours. Hope it's not a trend...

A month ago I read an article that said the FDA recently updated some of its numbers on mercury, and the levels found in certain types of tuna were higher than before.
I don't know what constitutes "safe" or "unsafe" levels though.

My guess is the change in texture is due to the additional mixing that you did. You know how pancakes come out flat if you mix too much?
To keep the dough, I'd double seal it in ziplock bags (so it doesn't absorb any weird freezer smells) and either freeze or fridge it. That way it won't dry out so much.

This might be expanded universe stuff, but I don't think the storm troopers in later movies are clones. Something about clone instability caused them to ditch cloning at some point, don't remember what it was exactly.

It's some kind of embedded Windows. I had a printout from one that crashed which told the version number and stuff, but I either washed it in my jeans or lost it somewhere.

I just picked up...
I just picked up a 20D, you can come over and play around with it if you want. I'm trying to figure out what kind of lenses and additional gear I'll need also.
What's your budget, and what kind of stuff do you want to take pictures of? If you want to keep it in the ballpark of 1000-1500 bucks and have a fairly flexible lens, there's a 100 dollar rebate on the Canon Digital Rebel (300D) that goes until the 31st and brings the price of the body down to around 700. Pick up a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 lens for 400 and you'll be in pretty good shape for shooting indoors and outdoors.

I read that article the other day. It reminded me of one I linked a while back that talked about how kids were using IM slang in school essays.
I used to be pretty lose with capitalization in casual e-mails until a professor mentioned that it might be a hard habbit to break once I started working.

one bad thing about wordpress is that it doesn't come with a photo gallery. from the searching i've done, there isn't a good solution that's easily integrated into wordpress. they all either lack features, or require me to do stuff that i don't know how to do.
