Mark 5:18-20: As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. (19) Jesus did not let him, but said, "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you." (20) So the man went away and began to tell the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed. (NIV)
Defining passion:
- A powerful emotion (e = out; motion = move)
- Boundless "enthusiasm" (en = inside; theos = God): Passion is a reflection of the boundless releasing of what God put on the inside of you
- Latin word ("patior") which means to suffer, to put up with; to submit to
Synonyms for passion: feeling, fervor, intensity, fire, intoxication, gusto, eagerness, obsession, desire, urge, thirst, flame
How do I discover my passion?
- It is reflected in my practice. What am I always doing?
- It is reflected in my presence. What do I show up for?
- It is reflected in your pay. Where do I receive my most non-monetary satisfaction?
- It's reflected in your privacy. Does the flame still burn without an audience?
