Ephesians 4:1-3 (1) I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, (2) with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, (3) being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Intro
First, there is a certain mentality we must have.
- Be diligent in your preparation
- Be diligent in your anticipation to receive from God (He IS throwing to you, and running your plays)
- Be diligent in your following the plan of God (He IS set on doing it His way)
- Be diligent in your confession of victorious life in God (He IS going to win through you)
- Be diligent in our responsibility to the household of God (He IS putting us together)
How to Look at Your Walking?
(1) I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
I am walking in good works prepared beforehand which are for those created in Christ. (Ephesians 2:10)
I am walking to please the Lord in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. (Colossians 1:10)
I am walking in Christ, having BEEN rooted and NOW being built up in Him and established in my faith just as I was instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. (Colossians 2:7)
What is the Calling?
God's declaring of those things from eternity into time, which reveal the actual eternal purpose in the future. (Romans 8:28, 30; Romans 11:29)
- The future is nearer than we practice
- The future of others is within your present
The seeming appearance of the foolish, weak, and base things which are really wise, strong and noble. (1 Corinthians 1:26)
- The calling is confident and assuring Eph 1:18
- The calling is high. Phil 3:14
- The calling is worthy 2 Thess 1:11
- The calling is holy 2 Tim 1:9
- The calling is heavenly Heb 3:1
- The calling is glorious and excellent 2 Pet 1:3
